Tattoo artist and client receiving award for the tattoo at the Rubber City Tattoo Invitational in Akron, Ohio

How much is admission and does admission include a tattoo?

Admission is $20/day or $40 for the weekend. This does not include a tattoo. Your ticket covers renting the facility and hosting the artists for the weekend!

2

Do I need an appointment?

Some artists are booking ahead of time, some artists are only taking walk-ups all weekend.

3

If I want to make an appointment, how do I do it?

Check out our list of artists on our Instagram page. If you see an artist whose work you like, reach out to them (If you click on their IG page, their bio should list how to contact them) and make sure to mention that you are attending RCTI and want to book an appointment.

4

If I don't have an appointment, how do I ask a tattoo artist at the show if they can tattoo me?

Just ask! All of the artists attending RCTI are so incredibly friendly and are there because they love tattooing. Even if a tattoo artist is in the middle of tattooing, you can get their attention and ask.

5

How much does a tattoo cost?

That's honestly a hard question to answer. It depends on the size, the location, the details, the artist...this is something you can talk to them about while you are scheduling your appointment.

6

Do artists take credit cards?

Many artists take credit cards, but definitely reach out to them ahead of time to find out. The John S. Knight Center does have an ATM on site.

7

How do I enter a tattoo contest or the Pin-Up contest?

There will be a table next to the stage where we will have sign ups. Please note that all contests (except the Kids' Tattoo Contest) are $10 to enter. Cash only.

8

If I want to enter a contest, do I have to get my tattoo at the show?

Nope! Unless you are entering Tattoo of the Day or Best in Show, you can enter any of your tattoos in our tattoo contests.

9

What else is going on besides tattooing? And what's a Kids' Tattoo Contest?

We have live enterainment, a video game arcade, a kids' area, vendors, and so much more.  Our Sunday Kids' Tattoo Contest is a chance for kids to show off their art skills! They can draw a tattoo on someone else, they can draw a tattoo on themselves, or a parent can draw a tattoo on their kid. It's a fun contest that celebrates art and creativity.
